Are those weather people crazy? Walk weekend is two days away. I'm sitting at my desk, looking out over Wilson Blvd in Arlington - the wind is blowing; people are all bundled up in sweaters and scarves. Co-workers who ventured out say it's freezing. Oh, well, this is what happens every year. I train through April in jeans and a coat, and this year complete with gloves, scarf, hat. Then May comes. Time to whip out the shorts and tank tops!
I'm a little nervous about the high temps in DC this weekend - that was the last thing I expected. We had a heat wave last month here in Atlanta so I did train for 2 weekends in mid 80's and believe me it feels very different than mid 70s. One thing I decided after those training walks that I thought I'd pass along - bring a change of underwear along with your change of socks. Even if you have moisture wicking ones, you'll be glad to put on a fresh dry pair.
