I have had 2 people tell me today that they tried to donate by credit card on my site.  They both filled out all information and hit donate, but the donation has not shown up on my page or their credit card transactions.  Has anyone else had this problem this week?  Can't reach anyone to help right now but hopefully will get some help on Monday!

Hi Laurie,

Are you talking about through your personal website, or through your Facebook page? (Assuming you have a Facebook page). I only ask because I had some issues with the Avon Walk For Breast Cancer application on my FB page. I can help you if it's a FB thing...but I haven't had any issues with my personal page.

The problem is with my personal website on the Avon page. I've had others able to donate earlier in the week with no problem but then had 2 friends contact me today letting me know that they donated but nothing has appeared. I do have a FB page but don't think anyone had tried to donate through that page yet. I have emailed and left a phone message with Avon, so hopefully will have it cleared up on Monday. What happened with your FB page? Thanks for your help!

Hi Laurie!

I'm sorry to hear about your personal page. I have not had any issues with my personal page, but you did the right thing in calling your walker buddy. That sounds like more of a IT/tech-y type of thing.

As far as my Facebook page, the actual FB page is fine, but it was just the Avon Breast Cancer application thing. I ended up deleting it, and just reapplying it, and it's worked since.

Jenn, how did you fix the FB issue? Before, when someone made a donation, it would recognize that and automatically put it on my wall. Now it very slowly updates the total (sometimes) and doesn't notify that someone made a donation.

I fixed the FB issue by logging into my FB account. Then, at the top right underneath "Account" and then go to "Application Settings". Where it says, "Avon Walk For Breast Cancer", just click on the "X" on the right side. This will clear it and delete it from your profile. To add it back to your FB profile, log onto your personal page on www.avonwalk.org. After you log in, it's going to ask you to click on the city in which you've registered, after you click on the city, it's going to bring you to your personal page "main page" as I call it. At the bottom of your "main page" you should see the FB blue square. Just click on that to add it back to your FB page.

I also find when I click on the "refresh" on Avon Walk For Breast Cancer" application, everything is updated.

Yes, I have had this problem... very frustrating! I found that if you go to your personal page and then edit my page, you will see a line that says update my URL. Go to that and add your name in the box...TaDa, you will now have your own URL, hand that out to people, it will take them right to your site, the donation will go more moothly.
