Hi Kathy,

Not sure if you are interested in other ways of fund raising, but I am a beverage distributor for efusjon energy club. Its an all natural, healthy energy drink company and has amazing health benefits. I have set up something to where people can join under my breast cancer fundraising foundation (I created in efusjon) and donate all proceeds to their cause. I can send you an email showing you how it would work if you are interested. Just throwing it out there if you have an interest! Have a great night!

Hi Kathy, I have a blog I use to help my friends who have signed up to do the walk. It has a lot of different fund-raising ideas on there. Some you need to put an initial investment into, some not. But I thought it might be helpful to go read it and get some new ideas that you can work off of.

Good luck, Kris

Hi Kathy
We have regular bake sales at work for various charities not just the Avon Walk that raise anywhere between $40-$80 a time - we usually have at least one a month - for the Avon bake sale - I actually got a ribbon shaped cookie cutter from eBay for about $4 - so do shortbread cookies in that shape with pink icing on, along with red velvet cupcakes with cream frosting and a glace cherry on top to look like boobs!!!!
You can have the bake sale anywhere - work, church - even your own home - where you can invite family and friends and co-workers and have some drinks and other nibbles too....
hope that helps - and good luck with your walk!

Hi Kathy- My team and I will also be walking in Houston ! We are doing pretty good with the fund raising- Oriental Trading Co has a lot of inexpensive Breast Cancer items that you can get for a few dollars for several dozen, You can take them door to door or to your church and ask for a "donation for each item - we were selling pink rubber bracelets for a dollar "donation" many people gave much more-
Hello Kathy my name is Brandie, It's not as hard to raise the money then you think. People are very generous to open there pockets for a great cause. You will be surprise at what you can accomplish just by asking. But one thing you could do is make a donation bucket and stand outside at your church and ask for donations. You could also have a bake sale at your church. Hope this helps, good luck in your fundraising!
Thanks Megan I order the bracelets.
Thanks Diana Hamuud
I don't know what kind of neighborhood that you live in. I invested $10 in a pair of flamingos from got pink flamingos.com. I decorated them w/tacky bows & silk flowers, you don't have to do that, weight them in plastic coffe cans using a small bag of quick setting concrete. Put the pair on lawns of friends & neighbors w/a sign posted to the front door use pink paper, I asked the local copy place if they would laminate for a discount cause it was for a non profit org, they did it for free. My note on the door reads something like this, you have been flocked by the AVON Walk for Breast Cancer flamingos, giving the date.......whatever else you want to include, I stated that for $10 i would remove them but for $15 I would put them in the yard of their choice. People gave me checks & donated to my site, some only $10 some $100. It works, only 2 people ignored them. I leave the flamingos for about 2-3 days depending. People sent them to houses & neighborhoods where I didn't know anyone. If you have more questions call me Houston Walk 2009 & 2010 (281) 528-7997 Lauren E smith, Good luck
I too am doing my first walk in Houston. I didn't have much money to start with for pink merch. Then I went to ARNE's:) They dont have too much, but I got the rubber bracelets 24pk for about $3, keychains 12pk for about $4, and bookmarks 12pk for about $4. It's nothing fancy, but it seems to be working. I'm waiting to hear from Walmart about a table. They require 30 day notice. Sadly, I was turned down by Kroger's.
Hi Kathy,
