Patricia Hildenbrand I am glad to see your fundraiser is going well. I want to tell every one to keep the faith, I finally reached my goal. My girlfriend got family and friends to help. Patricia, I will continue to watch your goal meter, and I will see if I can get some of my people to donate.

Katie, I'm so sorry I did not see this before! I spent the last several weeks with my boyfriend as he recovered from a bad burn incident the end of last month, so I haven't been on. He's doing much better and so has my donations! Thank you!

I know my goal meter is not showing it right now, but I have several checks that I will be bringing with me to event eve that will put me well over my goal (over $2,000 total), so I'm very excited!

Thank you so much!
Good for you! I finish my Houston walk, I had a great time. I hope you don't get any blister, I walked 26 miles. I am still hopping from my walk, I am planning on during the walk next year, I am so proud of myself. This is my first time completeing something so big. Good Luck in your walk.
Patricia and Katie,

I am so glad you both made your fundraising goal! Faith and a credit card is the only reason my daughter and I will be able to participate in the DC walk next weekend since we are only half way to the $3,600 needed in donations. Hopefully we will raise the additional donations before they charge the difference to my credit card in 60 days!

Jennifer and I are first time walkers and we are looking forward to meeting so many dedicated people next weekend! Thanks for the reminder to keep the faith!

Cindy, Can you please post a link to your fundraising page? I'll post it up and see if I can help get some hits on it for you.

Also, if you haven't already, approach your local restaurants and ask about doing spirit nights. I did 3 at Chilis and raised $550 from them alone. I also set up a donation table inside during the spirit nights and was able to raise another $300 from that.

Another thing I did was go to my local Giant Food store and set up days to be able to do a fundraiser table. I did 2 of these and had family and friends help bake things for the bake sale. Also I had a big tub for donations (same as with Chilis) and with those, I was able to raise $200 each time!
Thanks for the quick reply with so many great ideas! I am technically challenged and don't know how to post a link to our fundraising pages. I really appreciate your help!
No problem! I too struggled to get to my goal, but was pleasantly surprised when I reached it. The key truly is to constantly talk about it and ask everyone you come across if they would be willing to donate. Don't forget to check with local businesses and see how they may be able to help. Don't ever give up! My grandmother is a 5 time survivor of breast cancer and the biggest inspiration for doing this.
Cynthia - make sure to arrive at Event Eve early and plan on staying late. There are usually folks who come there with checks that they received late and are happy to hand them off to other walkers who haven't yet met their minimum. After all, the checks are written to AWBC, not to individuals.

Good luck, and see you at the gear trucks!

Cindy,
Go to Walmart and set up a table. You can get some free booklet from the cancer.org and give out mints for a donation. I hope this will help some.

Good Luck!
Thanks for the reply and wish for good luck! I am looking forward to the walk and meeting dedicated people like you.

I wish you a speedy recovery from the walk in Houston!
