need help drafting letter for business donation requests

does anyone have a doc that they used for soliciting donations from businesses? I am drawing a blank on what to write. Could you post it here? Then other's can benefit as well... Thanks

I actually got past the writers block and pulled something together for my team. Were trying to get a location to hold a Spagetti feed and silent auction. So the letters I wrote were to solicit donations of food supplies and prizes for the auction.

For what ever letter you write, if it's going to a business, put the Avon Tax I'd number somewhere on it. I got that advice from one of the business donors.

Where would we find the tax ID #?

Go to your participant page and on the left on the list of resources, click matching gifts. They have the tax ID number there.

I also wrote my walker buddy and he sent me a letter that verifys I'm a walker and it's on there too.

I just took the sample letters in the handbook and put pieces and parts together till it sounded good. Carefull with the typos I didn't notice one until I had made 50 copies on pink paper!
