I do alot of my fundraising through the email set up on my avon page. Thought it might help others if we share some of our letters. Attached is a letter I sent today. Fundraising isn't easy so I know I can use all the help I can get! Look forward to seeing other letters!

I also would like other letter ideas for emailing through Avon page.  Now that they have changed the format of their page, they also deleted all my templates for letters - darn it!  Let's share!!!

Subject: Behind every Avon walker is a incredible CREW.

Friends and Family,

I'm sure you've been anxiously waiting to see if I'm going to be a part of the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for the third year in a row. Well, the only thing to say is OF COURSE! There is still no cure for cancer, and I'm not ready to give up yet! I really enjoyed walking and completing the Avon Walk in San Francisco and in Santa Barbara. I am so proud to say that I've accomplished my goal of finishing the 39.3 mile journey. The ultimate goal, of finding a cure for cancer has not yet been reached. So this year I have dedicated myself to taking care of the walkers. I have decided to be a part of the CREW team for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer San Francisco this July. To sum it up, I will be working sun-up to sun-down (probably longer) throughout the ENTIRE Avon Walk weekend. I plan to do anything and everything to make this years San Francisco walkers' experience as memorable as possible. I know how important the CREW was to my walk, and I want to give that back to the walkers this year. I'm not sure which crew team I will be on, but I can't wait for the challenge.

As I have mentioned in the past, breast cancer takes a life every 13 minutes. Another woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 3 minutes. An estimated three million women are living with breast cancer. One million of them don't even know it yet. After my mother was diagnosed, I learned that I have twice the risk of developing breast cancer myself.

I am hoping you will consider making a donation on my behalf, no matter the size. With your donation you are contributing to fight a disease that affects the lives of too many people. I am determined to do everything I can to help put an end to it. The money I raise will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those that most need it, fund educational programs, and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures. There is a special focus on helping medically underserved women, the poor, minorities, the elderly, or those with inadequate health insurance. Any amount donated is great; I just appreciate your support.

You can make a tax deductible donation on my website:  http://tinyurl.com/MariahAvonCREW2011  Simply click on the pink "Donate Now" button. You can track my progress on my site as well. If you would prefer to make a donation by check, please email me for my home address.

Thank you again for your continued support, prayers, encouragement, and love year after year. With your generous help and donations I have raised over $13,000! I would love to reach $15,000 this year.  I hope you will forward this email to friends, family, and co-workers you believe would like to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

I will continue this fight.

With love,

Mariah Parker

PS I will be hosting Bunco for Breast Cancer fundraisers again this year. If you would like to have your friends over for a night of fun, and awareness, please let me know and I will send you the details. To check out a fun video I made click this link.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZeuZWPmHUo

Thank you Mariah.  This will help me out a lot!  Good luck with your Bunco games this year!

Cynthia

Good idea with the "I hope you will forward this email....." line!   Even if half the friends on your mailing list forward to only one person each, you're probably gaining several more donations.
