Stress and Depress

I am very stress, and depress, it was on my heart to do this walk.  I didn't know about collecting the $1800 until after signing paper.  I know to read all information first.  I am praying that all will work out.  I have e-mailed over 300 people, but just received one donation.  I were banking on facebook, family and friends for the donations.  I just raised around $400.   I tried some businesses, but I haven't received anything.  I am praying to God that the donations will start coming.

I am wondering if your problem is a computer glitch - i just tried to go to your avon walk page and could not find it - i found no Katie Feltus registered for any walk. Maybe you should check with your walker buddy.

found it! ok - so it isn't a computer glitch :)
so, if i can make a couple of suggestions - based on 4 previous years of walking -
first, try personalizing your page - a picture of you with your avon shirt on or out walking - also write something about yourself or someone that you have known with BC - tell why you are passionate about this cause
next - instead of having two identical scrolls - why not have the thermometer so people that go to your page know how far you have come on raising your money.
and one more - I dont like to have the amounts people people have given to show to everyone - several reasons for this - one is that people thinking about giving may go to your site and see that everyone has given $20.00 then they may go with that amount when they had originally thought about $50 or $100 and someone my only be able to afford a very small amount and they may not want the world to see that.

I feel your pain. I've been working on fund-raising since before Christmas and have just under $500 (with less than 7 weeks left). No one else in my area is doing this, so it's not like I can team up with others. I've been canvasing everywhere within an hour of here too.

Patricia, will you be walking in Houston. I am so glad you wrote. I know it is many more like us who is having a hard time raising money. I am going to try to send out more e-mail and letters. I will be updating my web page, I hope this will bring traffic. My walk is April 10-11. I am wishing you luck too.

No, I will be walking in Washington, DC May 1-2. Though it's disheartening to see so many struggling to raise this money, it's also relieving to know we're not alone. :)
