Hi my name is Kristie. I am survivor!!!! I was diagnosed Feb. 5th 2008. I was 35 yrs old and my breast cancer was considered Triple Negative since there was no significance reason for me to have it. I had a mascectomy on the right side and went thru 16 weeks of chemo and 33 treatments of radiation. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, but I had the most wonderful friends and family that was there with me through it all and I can honestly say w/out there help I would have never made it thru. I also give a lot of credit to my surgeon who took the extra time that he didn't have to and it made all the difference in my life. I would love to do the walk when it comes close to my home...I'm hoping that I might be able to do the walk in Chicago this year. I just want to do something to help protect my family and other peoples' family from having to go through this.
Hi Kristie, Congragulations on surviving!!! I'm a second year walker in Chicago with no history of Breast Cancer myself- but I do know quite a few people who have been hit by this nasty disease!!! This year I decided to walk for OUR future I have 4 neices ages from 9 thru 21 and I don't want them or any of our younger ladies to have to deal with this. So again I say YEAH for you... Come on and walk it really changed my life...:)
