She was a really good friend of a co-worker of mine. She was diagnosed with breast cancer years ago and went through chemo and radiation treatments. Unfortunately, her cancer came back a little while ago and was extremely agressive. We had hoped she'd be able to fight it again, but that did not happen and she passed away. I am signed up to do the Santa Barbara, CA walk next September. I am very excited about it. This will be the fourth Avon Walk I have participated in. The first time I was doing it for my sister, who had been battling breast cancer. The second year, I was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly before the walk and was given the opportunity to speak at the event, which I did - four days out of surgery.
