I am 55 years old and I am committed to doing  this walk in Charlotte. I am a survivor myself (three years out).  I was diagnosed in 2008 with stage two breast cancer.  I was told that it was a rare form of breast cancer seeing as how I was triple negative--Which means my cancer was not caused by my hormones and the doctors were not sure what caused it.  My cousin died from breast cancer when she was 40 and I lost my maternal grandmother to this disease also.  In their honor, and my being able to come "full circle" with my own disease is why I am doing the Avon two day walk.  Cancer is not just a physical burden, but it is also an emotional burden and I plan on healing myself on both fronts.
