The DC walk is 3 weeks away and for the first time I'm getting nervous.  Every weekend my training has been getting easier and I come home tired but inspired.  Well, this past weekend I hit a wall. …Continue

Walking Clothes

I'm having a hard time finding moisture wicking capri pants that are not leggings.  I want something loose but it seems those are all cotton.  Any suggestions?

"You can do it! I think it would be more strange if you weren't nervous. I just completed my first walk last weekend in DC and I think I had butterfies the entire week before. I did complete the training but I met a lot of people who didn't…"

DC Walk Complete!

It's back to reality now and coming down from the high of the DC Avon Walk.  This was my first year walking so I didn't know what to expect.  It was incredible!  I can't imagine all the behind the scenes work that goes into organizing this event - thanks so much to all Avon staff, volunteers, crew and residents of DC who came out to cheer for us.  This truly was an experience to remember. I made it through the entire 39.3 miles so I'm very pleased with myself.  I followed the training schedule…See More

"I'll be sleeping at typical dinner time :) I plan on doing the senior citizen early bird dinner so hopefully I'll avoid any crowds. But it sounds like there are many places so if one is busy, on to the next one. Off to the airport…"

"FYI - Buca isn't over-salted but is a HUGE amount of food. Also, on a Friday night, you really need reservations."

Dinner in DC Friday night

My sister and I will be arriving in DC Friday afternoon and spending the night at the event eve hotel.  Any suggestions for dinner that night within walking distance of the Hilton?  I know there is a Buca di Beppo accross the street but I think chain Italian restaurants have too much salt and I don't want to deal with that right before the walk.  Any ideas on something substantial but healthy?

Stephanie replied to Patricia Hildenbrand's discussion Current Weather outlook for the DC walk weekend!
